According to a report, Honor will reopen its smartphone operations in India in August. Excited !!

It will be interesting to watch how Honor seeks to resurrect its popularity in India given that Madhav Sheth is credited with creating the Realme brand from scratch.

  • According to reports, Honor will soon return to India.
  • Madhav Sheth, the former CEO of Realme India, is rumored to be returning with Honor India.
  • Honor stopped being sold in India, however it never formally left the market.

A once-popular Chinese brand could be making a comeback in India very soon. We’re talking about Honor, the then Huawei sub-brand that was previously quite popular, and part of the wave of Chinese brands that took over the Indian smartphone industry. What makes this comeback even more interesting is the person anticipated to head it, which could be ex-Realme India head, Madhav Sheth.

Honor India comeback
According to information supplied by tipster Mukul Sharma, Madhav Sheth has filed a new trademark for “Honor for Knights”. The product description for the trademark says mobile phones and accessories, which further contributes to the notion that Honor is really going back to the Indian smartphone market. In a separate tweet, Mukul implies that the comeback might happen as early as August.

Another indicator is Sheth’s Twitter bio which says, “When is the KNIGHT coming?” All this points out to the direction that Honor India will come back, and it will be headed by Madhav Sheth.

but were suspicions before about Sheth joining Honor when he announced his exit from Realme in June, but wasn’t any statement from either party. However, this latest discovery does add validity to the rumours.

Honor was one of the popular Chinese smartphone companies catering in the budget and mid-range price bracket. It provides a range of gadgets including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and fitness bands. The corporation, however faced a severe blow as the US government blocked Huawei from accessing Google services. It was also rumored that Honor is formally abandoning the Indian smartphone market however the firm later refuted it.

Honor kept launching devices in India till 2021. But it was largely smartwatches and tablets like the Honor Watch ES and the Honor Pad 5. The brand’s last smartphone in India was the Honor 9A which was a cheap gadget costing under Rs 10,000. It also released the MagicBook X14 laptop in India earlier this year. But the brand has more or less faded from the limelight in India.
